Sunsetting ShareBoost

It's not a fun post to write but it's time to give up on ShareBoost. So on November 11 the website, app and the served domains will stop functioning. It's a difficult decision to make but I couldn't find the time to work on it and improve it.

While the need is there and it's now validated with thousands of users, it's not this product or me that will solve it. Maybe someone will have the time and passion to take this up and become the standard for vacant domains and how they are utilized. If you are that someone and want any help or insights, don't hesitate to reach out.

As for what to do and use for now, I can recommend Carrd as it seems easy to use. If you have domains connected and would love to continue with what you already are serving, reach out or keep an eye on this post and I'll send you HTML files you can self-host anywhere and have the same experience.

It's been really interesting solving this technical problem of serving thousands of domains, supporting the apex domain too. It required a robust Caddy server that would issue SSL certificates at scale but that's something to expand on at a different post. Anyway time to wrap this up. If you used ShareBoost thank you for being a part of this. Hope it helped rank your domains higher!
